In a nutshell:

In this time and era, there are countless wrinkle treatments, from an anti-aging cream or moisturizer to an anti-aging serum.

But if you’re like many people these days who are into natural-based solutions, then why not, eh?

This is where face oils come in, and yes, these include essential oils and carrier oils that won’t just reduce wrinkles but also give you radiant skin.

How to use
As some people don’t know yet, essential oils must be diluted first before applying them to the skin.

By diluted, we mean mixing it with a carrier oil like vitamin E oil and jojoba oil.

This is very important to ensure that the essential oil won’t irritate your skin.

You can use a separate bottle for mixing, or you can add the essential oils to the bottle of your carrier oil.

A good rule of thumb is to mix 10 drops of essential oil per 1/2 ounce of carrier oil.

Once you have a serum, it’s ideal to do a patch test first.

This is especially necessary if you plan to apply the mixture to your face.

To conduct a patch test, choose a small area of your skin that’s far from your face.

One of the top choices by many is the inside of the elbow.

If there’s any reaction within 24 hours, you may be allergic to the oil and should discontinue use.

You may consider using fewer drops of essential oils to the mix.
Essentials Oils
Essential oils are distilled from the leaves, bark, roots, or other aromatic portions of a botanical.

They evaporate and typically have a strong aroma.

On the other hand, they don’t go rancid over time but will oxidize instead and lose their therapeutic benefits.

Sandalwood oil
Sandalwood is known by many for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

After all, it’s part of Ayurvedic (Indian) healing practices.

It also has a free radical-hunting ability that serves to reduce oxidative stress and keep the skin healthy.

As an essential oil, sandalwood boasts moisturizing effects due to naturally occurring emollients that help retain water in the skin.

These natural substances also function to reduce the look of wrinkles by acting as a filler.

What’s more, sandalwood has astringent effects that can promote skin cell turnover.

This in turn keeps your skin moisturized and free of dead skin cell buildup.

Pomegranate oil
Pomegranate seed oil makes a strong topical antioxidant.

It contains active ingredients that provide anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and even anti-cancer effects.

Based on a study, it stimulates the generation of the top layer of the skin by encouraging the production of keratin.

More importantly, this essential oil boosts the elasticity of the skin, which is important in reducing wrinkles.

In addition, pomegranate oil increases the key proteins in your skin that maintain its firmness, and again, this helps fight signs of aging like wrinkles.

You can also use this to protect the skin from photoaging, a form of skin aging induced by UV rays.

Lavender oil
Lavender oil is most famous for its very calming aroma.

But did you know that lavender oil also has skin benefits when used topically? For starters, it aids in healing skin conditions including burns and cuts.

Additionally, it’s great for fighting fine lines and wrinkles.

Free radical causes signs of aging and you need antioxidants to fight it.

According to research, lavender essential oil helps the body produce three of the most powerful naturally occurring antioxidants, including glutathione, catalase, and superoxide dismutase.

Skin looking dull and stressed out? Apply a few drops of diluted lavender oil to revive your skin into its youthful appearance.
